The number of places like Silver Heights are diminishing rapidly due to financial concerns and a lack of community awareness and support. An infusion of new leadership at Silver Heights is vigorously trying to reverse this trend.
Through strategic planning, a three phase reconstruction plan has been developed. This is where you, hopefully, come in. Phase One estimated completion costs total $750,000 of which $100,000 will be needed to begin construction. It is up to all of us, the community and the communities' leaders, to help Silver Heights reach this, and future goals. The camp's value to the children and families of Southern Indiana is immeasurable.
Phase One
Startup Cost: $100,000
Total Estimated Cost: $750,000

Construction of a multi-purpose facility
that will include a fully equipped kitchen, 200 seat dining
area and gymnasium. Also included will be an apartment
for an on-site caretaker and program director.
The kitchen and dining area are vital to the day-to-day operation of the camp. This facility will allow the camp to be re-opened for events and programs year round. Previously, the camp had been limited to serving campers during the summer months only. The addition of the gymnasium will enable youth-based programs and functions to occur on a yearly basis.
Silver Heights Camp & Retreat Center would also be made available to churches, Christian youth groups, mission organizations as well as groups such as the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts of America.
Phases Two & Three During fund raising efforts and completion of Phase One, we are actively trying to solicit funds for the second and third phases of the project. These are equally important to the final vision of Silver Heights Camp.

Phase Two
In the second phase of the reconstruction, 12 new cabins will be built to house up to 48 or more people. Also included in the second phase is the restoration of the Tabernacle. Originally built in 1892, minor upgrades and improvements are long overdue. Plans include a renovation of the seating area, the installation of a modern sound system, additional lighting and much more.
Phase Two Estimated Cost: $600,000
Phase Three
Phase Three of the plan involves landscape
development. The addition of new access roads and a parking lot expansion will greatly ease congestion in and out of the camp. Hookup's for RV's and campers will also be provided. Hiking trails will be created to allow teaching opportunities for young children and the opportunity for peaceful reflection by all.
An obstacle course will also be created.
Phase Three Estimated Cost: $750,000
